Cosabella: Beautiful Lingerie We Happily Covet
Cosabella, known for their beautifully-colored lingerie, has this girl’s attention for more than just the playful hues. The Italian lingerie company founded by Valeria Campello and her husband, Ugo, was established in order to bring the “total look” from the European runways to the boutiques in the United States, a sort of mixing of American design and Italian artisanship. They believed that a woman's lingerie should reflect her every mood and match her total look from “underpinnings to outerwear.”
Cosabella’s Never Say Never line is at the top of my “things I covet” list. Their underwear are seriously sexy and super comfortable - two concepts that usually occupy separate spaces - and their seamless, one-size fits all thongs are both simple and luxurious. Even the thongs have no seams and are elastic-free, ensuring that they never cut into your hips.
Guido Campello, Valeria and Ugo’s son and Cosabella’s Vice President of Sales, Branding & Innovation, told me that, “Cosabella is made for everyone. We specialize in comfortable fabrics and fits and we have over 100 colors and prints in our collection at all times.”
I was curious as to how the Never Say Never thong could truly be a “one size fits all” and Guido explained that, “The thongs are made with a wide, sexy, floral lace that has enough Lycra to stretch to over 100% of its original size.”
The line comes in two different fits, the “Cutie” for a sexy low-rise fit, and the "Bootie" for a soft, relaxed, mid-rise fit, that is more comfortable on a wider hip.
Cosabella has been expanding in line with their original vision of being able to provide women the “total look” and now offer, in addition to lingerie, a full apparel line including dresses, swimwear and active/athletic clothing.
We consider ourselves artisans and strive to deliver what our customers want while maintaining the best possible combination of fabric, style, construction and price value.
The company manufactures all of their products in Italy and Guido says that, “by being a tight-knit, family-run company, our customers can order one of a kind pieces and can also be direct participants in our design process.”
According to Guido, Cosabella is successful because customers can communicate directly with Valeria and Ugo, offering advice, suggestions and direction for future collections. “If you have an idea or suggestion, it is very likely that in 3-4 weeks time a prototype from this suggestion would be developed and presented to our team and very easily you could see it presented in our next collection,” he says.
If the flattering fits, sexy colors and perfect price point ($20) weren’t enough, then the sheer man-control factor built-in to each pair will have you asking:
Victoria who?
